The Happiness Project

I’ve decided to start trying to read a book a month and I thought I would share my choices with you.  I found The Happiness Project on another blog and I was drawn in.  This book is about focusing on the things that really matter.  The author, Gretchen Rubin, isn’t depressed.  She just feels as though life is passing her by without her really appreciating it.  I feel the same way sometimes.  I have a wonderful hardworking husband and a beautiful home, but sometimes I find myself snapping at him for no reason.

Rubin’s approach is to start a year-long project to be happier.  She has a checklist, “secrets to adulthood”, and commandments.  She takes one month at a time and focuses on one specific area of her life.  I just made it to March.  I feel myself slowly getting happier if only for the fact that I’ve read the word happiness hundreds of times so far.  Rubin gives great advice that is more matter of fact instead of preaching.

Once I’m finished, I plan on doing a quick review.  I’ll try not to give too much away because it really is a great book that you should read!

(Sorry for the camera reflection on the cover!)

Be Happy!
